Ron Jacobs, a traveling Microsoft evangelist and host of ARCast.TV and ARCast Radio visited the Atomic Object office last week and we chatted for quite a while about TDD, MVP and Presenter First development methodologies for his podcast.
Ron hosts a regularly appearing podcast on his MSDN blog where he talks about all sorts of interesting topics related to software development. He had recently come across our Presenter First Development Pattern paper, found it interesting and scheduled a visit to talk to us about it. We were quite flattered.
We were also pretty impressed to learn that he had actually tried a few Presenter First development exercises on his own before coming out. We talked for about 90 minutes on topics like interaction based testing using mocks, the roles the various pieces of a Presenter First code base play, and our experiences on projects large and small using this methodology. I don’t know how much of it will make it on to the show (certainly less than 90 minutes!), but we really enjoyed talking with him about our software development passions.
Look for us on Ron’s upcoming podcasts. Our interview should be posted sometime before the middle of June. And, Ron plans to talk about Presenter First quite a bit at his Microsoft Tech Ed 2007 presentation in early June (even including some of the video he shot). We’ll post Ron’s links on atomic_spin when he makes them available.
