Article summary
Atomic is looking to add two talented designers to our Grand Rapids team. We are interested in talented junior or senior designers who take a user-centered design approach to their craft and are excited to participate in the entire product lifecycle from concept through implementation.
At Atomic, we create custom mobile, web, desktop and embedded software products for clients ranging from startups to the Fortune 500. Our typical projects are large and complex. The success of those projects requires smart and creative designers and developers that work well together.
As a designer at Atomic, you would help us work with our clients to determine the types of users we’re building for, what they care about, when and why they’ll use the product, and what feature set should be built. During our interactive development lifecycle, you will engage in information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype creation, usability testing, and design implementation.
Being a designer at Atomic is an interesting and diverse job. We don’t require you to be an expert in all areas of design on day one. You do, however, need to be excited and interested in learning, growing, and teaching design skills that span from ideation to implementation. Ideal candidates should have an undergraduate design-related degree (e.g. Graphic Design, Fine Arts, etc.) or relevant professional design experience. Internship or professional experience with software application design and implementation is a plus.
